The well-being of our senior population continues to be challenged by inflation and their prior COVID 19 experiences.
Improve North Carolina seniors’ peace of mind:
Waive property taxes on primary residences for those aged 61+.
Provide free healthcare at county clinics for citizens aged 70+.
Increase lighting on highways to facilitate evening travel.
Improve North Carolina seniors’ connectedness to the community:
Provide WCPSS with funding to allow seniors with advanced degrees in a subject (e.g. physics, Spanish, music, biology, etc.) to teach that subject part-time in public high schools.
Create hundreds of volunteer opportunities across the various Wake County departments.
Marguerite will actively contribute to the creation of policies that allow senior citizens to flourish. Her professional budgeting skills will help enable the elderly to comfortably live in their homes post-retirement and engage in more social interaction.
